today is the BIG day...i am the mother of the bride, and in a few hours, the 'i do's' will have all been said, and the party will really begin...and i will politely say my goodbyes...
last night, i got a peek-a-boo reminder at what a mess alcohol can make of things, and although i respect every one's right to drink or not, i can choose not to be around it...and that is what i am choosing today...
as i sit here blogging, it is very quiet; everyone is off getting their hair done, going to get tuxedos, etc...and i am left in the bliss of silence...ahhhhhhhhhh...
weddings...they are a big-to-do about a lot of very expensive nonsense if you ask me, but no one did...LOL...
remaining present in the now...accepting the things i cannot change, and determined to change the things i can...i am responsible for me...that is it in a nutshell...
i am thankful today that i do not have a desire to drink or drug...i am also thankful that today i have a choice...i love sobriety...and i love my life without all the drama...and that is what i am choosing today...
