"BE STILL...KNOW...GOD...

there is a time to laugh and a time to cry...

there is also a time to be still and know God...

prayer and meditation is a very important part of recovery...just being still...sometimes is hard for us addicts to do. our bodies, are usually still in high gear, or so warn out, that they go the other way into depression. where ever we are...we must accept it, and allow God to change us...for God's good pleasure...so, what does that mean you may ask...

accept EVERYTHING...even you...right where you are...God will make the changes in Gods time...by Gods grace...

sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood him...praying only for the knowledge of his will and the power to carry that out....

Take a good long look around you: we will never pass this way again.


I have often said that I will be judged on the things I have left undone, rather than the things in my past that I have already been forgiven of. Every day is full of choices and chances to do good unto others and allow our light to shine. If we go around all day moping and pouting about superficial nonsense, we miss the opportunities God has given us today. You will never have these chances again to make a difference in someone’s life.

Moment by moment, I will slow down and open my eyes to all the possibilities that God has given me now.

Why do we bring those who have fallen asleep flowers?

We should have done it while they were yet alive.It seems that when we need people to be involved in our lives and give us their time and support, they are too busy doing other things, yet, when we are dead they come crying and bearing gifts.

Moment by moment, I will serve God by serving others. I will reach out to them now instead of later. Later might just be too late....

sometimes, just a smile, or a kind word is enough to give another that little bit of magic that they need to go on. most the time, all we can do for another is pray for them to accept the grace of God...if during your morning meditation, you have honestly asked God to guide your day, and to help you be useful to others, then all you have to do is be aware...in actuality...helping others helps you...

Where there is a need, those of us who can, must fill it.

As we travel through this life, there are countless opportunities to do for others. We fly by most of them without ever giving them a second glance, much less a thought. We pray for grace, mercy, and forgiveness, yet we choose not to see those in need that are right in front of us everyday. When we close our eyes and hearts to others, we are turning our backs on God.

Moment by moment, as I have opportunity, I will reach out and help another to climb the ladder of life.

why did God hang the moon and stars? why did God create this world? who is this God, and how can i understand him?

justfortoday, it does not matter...it is none of my business...i can ask why all day long and be caught up in the turmoil of not knowing...or thinking i know...seeking and searching for what IS...and miss the simplicity of the NOW...God will reveal what God reveals...when God reveals it! if i tend to my own affairs...the rest will fall into place...i pray for God to direct my path...and God does...how do i know? i have never had it so good...

have you gotten off the merry-go-round?

going round and round in circles will eventually make you dizzy and sick. that chaos in the day to day soap opera of life becomes normal, even second nature. however, it is not your true nature. God wants us to be happy, joyous, and free. God extends his grace...it is free...it is peace...all we need do is to accept it...

moment by moment, i will accept Gods grace and be grateful for it...i will rest in Gods peace...

Let your spirit soar beyond the gates of heaven.

We often visualize heaven as a place of eternal rest, attained only after physical death. I am convinced that heaven is a spiritual realm, attainable anytime we attune ourselves to the presence of God. You can obtain peace and contentment anytime you allow yourself to.

Moment by moment, I will be open to the limitlessness of spiritual travels. I will allow my inner spirit to journey with the grace of God, and take me to heights unknown. Heaven on earth is a state of mind.

Who are we to question the ways of God?

Can we set the sun, or make it rise? God’s ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts ours. We cannot begin to understand His infinity or His power, and we know not why He allows the things He allows. It is not our place to question—but to comply.

Moment by moment, I will remember my place in this life. God is the creator and I am the created. He made me to serve Him, and not the other way around.

choices...

when i was using...drugs and alcohol...people, places, and things...i had no choices...addiction kept me trapped...enslaved...in sobriety, which to me is more than just not drinking and drugging...it is a complete psychic change, i have all kinds of choices...my favorite one is to let God be in control of my life today...and stay out of my own way...i can still choose to be selfish and lazy today, but it brings me dis-ease...i still do not have the ability to think my way into right action...i must act my way into it...

today, i choose good days...it has nothing to do with what is happening around me...but everything to do with what is happening inside me...

it's as simple as getting up and doing the dishes! haha...back to basics...

Our homecoming will be our ascension to the Father.

It is the place from which we came.Many believe that our homecoming will only happen when we physically die. The truth is that we can attain communion with the Father anytime we want by prayer. Our spirits belong to God, and will eventually return forever to Him when our earthly work is done. Is it not wonderful however, to know that anytime we choose, we can be at home with our Lord in prayer?

Moment by moment, I will remember to refresh my spirit anytime I need to by talking to my Lord through prayer.
